Perched on a lush plateau in the Scenic Rim, Tamborine Mountain is a cool-climate escape just 45 minutes from the Gold Coast. This enchanting hinterland destination is a patchwork of ancient rainforest, boutique wineries, artisan galleries and sweeping valley views. It’s where you come to breathe in eucalyptus-scented air, discover quirky local crafts, and walk among strangler figs and towering palms on well-maintained forest trails.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Tamborine Mountain works well as a day trip from Brisbane or the Gold Coast, but to truly unwind, plan an overnight stay. With a full day you can comfortably do a short rainforest walk, browse Gallery Walk, visit a winery, and catch the sunset from a lookout. If you have two days, add a longer hike like the Palm Grove circuit and explore the northern villages of Eagle Heights and North Tamborine. The mountain’s relaxed pace rewards those who linger.
