A serene pocket of green in the heart of Taipei, the Taipei Botanical Garden is a living museum of Taiwan's rich plant life. Established in 1896 during the Japanese era, this 8.2-hectare oasis is home to over 2,000 species, including a famous collection of palms, cycads, and aquatic plants. Wander through themed sections like the tropical rainforest greenhouse and the lotus pond, where water lilies bloom in summer. The garden is a favorite escape for locals and a peaceful retreat for travelers seeking a break from the city's bustle.
