Supertubos Beach, just south of Peniche on Portugal's Silver Coast, is a world-class surf break known for its powerful, hollow waves that peel perfectly over a shallow sandbar. This exposed beach attracts thrill-seekers and professional surfers, especially during the annual World Surf League event. Even if you don't surf, the raw energy of the ocean and the dramatic coastal scenery make it a captivating stop. The beach itself is backed by dunes and low cliffs, with a wild, untamed feel that contrasts with the more sheltered coves nearby.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Half a day is plenty to soak in the atmosphere, watch the surf, and take a walk. If you're a surfer, plan for a full morning or afternoon session depending on the tide. Combine with a visit to Peniche's town center or the nearby Berlengas Islands for a full day out. The beach is exposed and can be windy, so pack layers and sun protection.
