Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the Philippines' most awe-inspiring natural wonders. This 8.2-km underground river winds through a spectacular limestone karst landscape, featuring dramatic stalactites and stalagmites, cathedral-like chambers, and a rich ecosystem of bats, swiftlets, and unique flora. Accessible only by guided boat tour from the coastal village of Sabang, the park offers a surreal journey into the earth's depths, where the river meets the sea in a stunning lagoon. Beyond the cave, the park encompasses pristine beaches, jungle trekking, and diverse wildlife, making it a must-visit for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Allocate a full day for the park experience. Most tours from Puerto Princesa City depart early morning (around 6–7 AM) and return by late afternoon (4–5 PM). The underground river boat tour itself takes about 45 minutes, but you'll also spend time on the scenic drive (about 2 hours each way), a brief orientation, and a short hike to the cave entrance. Add an extra hour for the mangrove tour or beach time if you wish. For a more relaxed pace, consider staying overnight in Sabang to explore the park and nearby attractions over two days.
