Moruya, a charming town on the NSW South Coast, sits on the banks of the Moruya River just a few kilometres from the ocean. Known for its historic granite buildings and laid-back riverside atmosphere, it's a perfect base for exploring the Eurobodalla region. The town's main street is dotted with cafes, bakeries and antique shops, while the river offers swimming, kayaking and fishing. Moruya's markets (held every Saturday morning) are a highlight, with local produce, crafts and live music. Despite its small size, Moruya has a strong sense of community and a surprising depth of culture, from its annual show to its thriving arts scene.

Suggested Time to Spend
Moruya is a perfect stop for one or two nights. If you're driving the Princes Highway, an afternoon is enough to explore the main street, grab a coffee and dip your toes in the river. For a deeper experience, stay two days: spend the first day on the river and at the markets (if it's Saturday), and the second day visiting the botanic garden and taking a short drive to the nearby beaches or the historic village of Central Tilba. The town is compact and walkable, so you can easily park the car and wander.
