On the rugged southwestern tip of Kangaroo Island, Admirals Arch is a spectacular natural bridge carved by the relentless Southern Ocean. This dramatic limestone arch is the centerpiece of Flinders Chase National Park, where boardwalks lead you to prime viewing platforms. The air is thick with salt spray and the roar of the ocean, while a colony of long-nosed fur seals plays in the swirling waters below. It’s a raw, wild place that captures the untamed spirit of South Australia’s coastline.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Dedicate 1–2 hours to explore Admirals Arch and the boardwalks. If you’re combining it with Remarkable Rocks (a must), allow at least half a day for the western end of the island. Many visitors base themselves in Kingscote or American River and make a full-day drive to the park, which is about 90 minutes from Kingscote. Arrive early to avoid crowds and enjoy the wildlife at its most active.
