Hong Kong Island's southern coast is a world away from the neon-lit skyscrapers of Central. Here, Ocean Park combines a marine-themed amusement park with conservation education, while the surrounding neighbourhoods of Wong Chuk Hang and Aberdeen offer a glimpse into local life. The area's lush hills and sheltered bays also provide excellent hiking and seafood dining.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Allow at least a full day for Ocean Park itself, ideally arriving at opening time (10am) to beat the crowds. If you want to combine the park with the surrounding area, plan for two days: one for Ocean Park and another for hiking the Dragon's Back in the morning, followed by an afternoon at Repulse Bay or Stanley. For a relaxed visit, a long weekend works well, letting you soak up the coastal vibe without rushing.
