Suggested Time to Spend
Most travellers spend one night in Greymouth, which allows time to explore the town's highlights and take a day trip to Punakaiki. If you're driving the West Coast, a two-night stay lets you also visit Hokitika and the glaciers further south. Plan at least half a day for Shantytown and a brewery tour, plus a couple of hours for the Pancake Rocks.
