Vanua Levu

Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second-largest island, is a world away from the bustle of Viti Levu. Here, the pace is slow, the rainforests are lush, and the reefs are pristine. This is Fiji for adventurers and those seeking authentic village life, with a handful of excellent dive resorts and eco-lodges scattered along the coast.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

For a fulfilling visit, plan at least 5–7 days. This allows you to explore Savusavu and its surrounding reefs (2–3 days), venture to Labasa and the northern coast (2 days), and include a day trip to Namena or Kioa. Vanua Levu is best combined with a stay on Taveuni or the Yasawas for a complete Fijian experience. Renting a 4WD is recommended for exploring the interior and remote beaches.
