Busuanga

Busuanga, the northernmost island in the Calamianes group, is a rugged, off-the-beaten-path paradise in Palawan, Philippines. Unlike its more famous neighbour Coron, Busuanga offers a raw, authentic slice of island life, with rolling savannahs, limestone karst peaks, and a coastline fringed with secluded coves and coral reefs. The island is also a gateway to the wrecks of World War II Japanese ships that lie in the waters around Coron Bay, making it a top destination for wreck diving. Whether you're exploring the quiet fishing villages, kayaking through mangroves, or simply soaking up the laid-back vibe, Busuanga feels like a genuine discovery.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most travellers spend 3–5 days on Busuanga, which allows time for a day trip to Calauit Safari Park, a day of island-hopping or diving, and a relaxed day exploring the coastline. If you're a diver, factor in an extra day for wreck dives. The pace here is slow – don't over-schedule; leave room for spontaneous discovery.
