Berridale is a sleepy hamlet on the Snowy Mountains Highway, cradled by rolling green hills and the sparkling Snowy River. It’s the kind of place where the air smells of eucalyptus and woodsmoke, and the pace of life slows to a gentle amble. For travellers, it serves as a serene base for exploring the high country, with a handful of historic buildings, a beloved bakery, and easy access to wild alpine landscapes.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Berridale is a stopover rather than a destination in itself. Most travellers spend 1–2 hours here for a bakery lunch and a short riverside wander. If you plan to use it as a base for Kosciuszko, allow a full day for the national park and another day to explore the nearby historic towns of Adaminaby and Jindabyne. It’s also a convenient overnight stop on a SydneyCanberra–Snowy Mountains road trip.
