The Bernese Oberland is a stunning alpine region in central Switzerland, renowned for its dramatic peaks, turquoise lakes, and charming mountain villages. This is the Switzerland of your dreams: the iconic Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau form a majestic backdrop, while the Lauterbrunnen Valley plunges with waterfalls and the lakes of Brienz and Thun shimmer in emerald hues. Whether you're hiking, skiing, or simply soaking in the views, this region offers an unforgettable high-altitude experience.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Spend at least 3–4 days to experience the highlights without rushing. Base yourself in Interlaken (for convenience), Lauterbrunnen (for valley charm), or Grindelwald (for mountain access). Dedicate one day to Jungfraujoch (allow 6–8 hours round trip from Interlaken), another to the Schilthorn or First, and a third to cruising the lakes or hiking in the Mürren–Schilthorn area. If you have a week, add a day in the lesser-known Kandersteg or Adelboden for quieter trails.
