Bardenas Reales is a semi-desert natural region in southeastern Navarre, Spain, known for its dramatic, eroded landscapes of clay, chalk, and sandstone. Designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, this otherworldly terrain resembles something from another planet, with deep ravines, flat-topped mesas, and isolated buttes. It's a paradise for hikers, cyclists, and photographers seeking solitude and stark beauty.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Plan for a full day (at least 6–8 hours) to explore the park properly. A half-day is enough for a quick drive-through and a short hike, but to truly appreciate the vastness and hike some of the longer trails, you'll want a full day. If you're a keen photographer or hiker, consider two days to catch different light conditions.
