Uluru Stargazing

As the sun sets and the last fiery colours fade from Uluru, a different kind of magic takes over. The vast, unpolluted skies above the Red Centre become a celestial theatre, offering some of the clearest, most mesmerising stargazing on Earth. With its remote location and minimal light pollution, Uluru is a designated International Dark Sky Sanctuary, making it an unmissable experience for anyone who loves the night sky.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Plan at least two to three hours for a dedicated stargazing tour, which typically begins around sunset and extends for 1.5–2 hours after dark. If you're combining it with the Field of Light, allow an extra hour to wander the installation. For a self-guided experience, simply step outside your accommodation after 9 pm – the stars are instantly breathtaking. Most visitors find one evening of stargazing sufficient, but astronomy enthusiasts could easily spend two nights exploring different perspectives.
