Denham is the gateway to the stunning Shark Bay World Heritage Area, a place where turquoise waters meet rust-red earth and where you can swim with wild dolphins at Monkey Mia. This laid-back coastal town on the Peron Peninsula offers a genuine outback-meets-ocean experience, with a small-town charm and access to some of Western Australia's most extraordinary natural wonders.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Allow at least two full days to experience Denham and Shark Bay properly. Day one: explore the town, visit Monkey Mia for the morning dolphin feeding, and then head to Shell Beach and Hamelin Pool in the afternoon. Day two: dedicate to a 4WD adventure in Francois Peron National Park, or take a scenic flight over the bay. If you have a third day, consider a boat tour to spot dugongs, sea turtles, and manta rays.
