Yengo National Park is a rugged, wild expanse of sandstone escarpments, deep gorges, and ancient Aboriginal rock art, lying just inland from the NSW Central Coast. It's a place of profound silence and dramatic landscapes, where you can hike through remote bushland, discover sacred sites, and feel a world away from the coast — yet it's only a couple of hours' drive from Sydney. This is a park for self-sufficient travellers who love solitude, Aboriginal culture, and raw nature.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Yengo is best explored over a full day or, ideally, an overnight trip. The park is vast and many tracks require a high-clearance 4WD — plan your route in advance. A day trip can cover the main lookouts and a short walk, but to really appreciate the solitude and Aboriginal heritage, consider camping at one of the basic sites like Mogo Campground. Allow at least 2–3 hours for driving the main access roads and another 2–4 hours for walking.
