It’s the perfect spot for swimming, kayaking, and soaking up the sun, with a charming village atmosphere that invites you to slow down. The bay is also a gateway to the stunning Tomaree National Park, offering some of the best coastal walks in the region.
Highlights & What to See
- Shoal Bay Beach – A stunning crescent of white sand lapped by calm, clear waters, ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, and building sandcastles. The beach is patrolled in summer, making it safe for families.
- Tomaree Head Summit Walk – A short but steep 2.2 km return walk rewards you with panoramic views over Port Stephens, the bay, and out to sea. It’s especially magical at sunrise or sunset.
- Zenith Beach – A quieter, surf-friendly beach just south of the headland, popular with local surfers and those seeking solitude. Access via a scenic coastal track.
