Named for the offshore Solitary Islands Marine Park, this multi-day walk showcases the raw beauty of the NSW North Coast, with opportunities to spot migrating whales, sea eagles, and lush subtropical flora. Whether you tackle a single section or the full route, you’ll be rewarded with ever-changing ocean views and a profound sense of coastal solitude.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most walkers take 3 to 4 days to complete the full 65-kilometer trail, camping or staying in coastal accommodation along the way. If you have less time, the best day-walk option is the 12-kilometer section from Coffs Harbour to Sawtell (via Diggers Beach and Boambee Beach), which takes around 4–5 hours and covers the most scenic highlights. For a relaxed pace, allow a full day to explore the northern half (Coffs Harbour to Emerald Beach), including detours to Muttonbird Island and Korora Lookout.
