Standing proudly on the corner of Clarence and Hay Streets, Port Macquarie’s Historic Courthouse is a graceful relic of the town’s early colonial days. Built in 1869 from local brick and sandstone, it’s one of the finest examples of Victorian Italianate architecture on the Mid North Coast. Inside, the courtrooms and cells have been lovingly restored, offering a fascinating glimpse into 19th-century justice. The building also houses a small museum with exhibits on local history, including the area’s convict past and maritime heritage.
