Billabong Nature Preserve

Just a short drive from Port Macquarie, Billabong Nature Preserve offers a peaceful escape into lush coastal wetlands. This 15-hectare sanctuary is a haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers, with a network of boardwalks that wind through paperbark forests, melaleuca swamps, and open billabongs. The preserve is home to an incredible array of birdlife, including white-faced herons, kingfishers, and the occasional sea eagle, as well as eastern water dragons and turtles basking in the sun.
