Bellbrook is a tiny, tranquil village tucked into the upper Macleay River valley, about 70 kilometres west of Port Macquarie. Surrounded by lush farmland and forested hills, it feels a world away from the coast — a place where you can truly slow down and experience rural New South Wales at its most authentic. The drive alone, winding through the verdant valley along the Macleay River, is a highlight.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Bellbrook is best enjoyed as a half-day escape from Port Macquarie or as a stop on a longer loop through the Macleay Valley. If you're driving, allow at least an hour to reach the village from Port Macquarie, then another hour or two to explore, have a coffee at the general store, and soak up the scenery. Combine it with a visit to nearby Kempsey or the Willi Willi National Park for a full day out.
