Stretching gracefully across the Rambler Channel, Ting Kau Bridge is a striking cable-stayed bridge that connects Tsing Yi Island to the mainland New Territories. Completed in 1998, its twin towers and fan-shaped cables create a dramatic silhouette against the sky, especially when lit at night. For travelers with an eye for modern engineering or a love of urban landscapes, it’s a memorable stop on a self-drive tour of Hong Kong’s western reaches.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Thirty minutes to an hour is enough to take in the bridge from the promenade and snap photos. If you’re cycling or walking the entire Rambler Channel path, allow 1.5–2 hours. The view is rewarding at any time of day, but sunset and the hour after give the best light and the transition to the lit bridge.
