Minnamurra Rainforest, part of the Budderoo National Park on the NSW South Coast, is a lush pocket of subtropical and warm temperate rainforest that feels like stepping into a prehistoric world. The centrepiece is a spectacular elevated boardwalk that winds through towering tree ferns, ancient figs, and along the cascading Minnamurra River. It’s an easy, family-friendly day trip from Kiama or a detour on the drive between Sydney and Jervis Bay, offering a cool, green escape with the soundtrack of birdsong and rushing water.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Allow at least 2–3 hours to fully experience the boardwalk loop, take photos at the falls, and enjoy a picnic. If you’re keen on birdwatching or photography, budget an extra hour. The walk is easy and mostly flat, so it suits all ages and fitness levels. It’s best visited in the morning when the light filters through the canopy and wildlife is most active.
