Bibracte

Perched atop Mont Beuvray in the Morvan hills, Bibracte is the ancient capital of the Aedui tribe, a Gallic people who resisted Roman conquest under Vercingetorix. This archaeological site is a must for history buffs, offering a rare glimpse into pre-Roman Celtic life. The on-site museum, Bibracte-Morvan, presents over 2,000 objects from the excavations, while the reconstructed ramparts and paths let you walk the same ground as Gallic warriors. The surrounding forested landscape is perfect for a peaceful hike, blending history with nature.
