Perisher Valley is Australia's largest alpine resort, nestled in the Snowy Mountains of Kosciuszko National Park. This high-altitude playground offers world-class skiing and snowboarding in winter, and transforms into a haven for mountain biking, hiking, and wildflower spotting in summer. The village, perched at 1,720 metres, has a friendly, no-fuss atmosphere with ski-in/ski-out lodges, lively après bars, and stunning alpine scenery.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

For a ski trip, plan at least three to four days to fully explore the terrain and enjoy the village atmosphere. A long weekend works for a quick fix, but a full week allows you to tackle all four resort areas and take a day trip to Thredbo. In summer, two to three days are enough to hike, bike, and ride the chairlift. If you're combining with a Canberra visit, factor in a full day for driving and activities.
